ManyChat is the official Meta Business Partner with approved IG/Messenger automation, and the visual flow builder has the lowest learning-curve in the category. Two operational caveats matter more than the marketed Free tier. First, the March 2 2026 free-plan cut is real and documented on ManyChat's own community forum: 1,000 active contacts was reduced to 25. The Free tier today is a demo, not a working platform — Essentials at $15/mo is the actual entry. Second, AI features are a separate $29/mo add-on on Pro and Business, not bundled — the marketing implies "Pro + AI" is one product; the invoice does not. WhatsApp uses Meta's per-conversation passthrough ($0.02-$0.08), SMS is per-country, and contacts stay "active" until you manually remove them — three usage dimensions that surprise operators at the second invoice. For traditional website live-chat, enterprise customer support, or ticketing/SLA workflows, ManyChat is structurally the wrong tool — Tidio or Gorgias own those lanes.
